“23 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord.”–Jeremiah 23:1
“2 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord.”–Jeremiah 23:2
How many times have we seen or heard Pastors teach their congregations lessons that are not in agreement with the Bible? The “Gospel of Accomedation” is alive and well, misleading many sincere souls.
God reserves a special punishment to those who “destroy and scatter the sheep”. (We are the sheep :). Have you ever heard the saying, “To whom much has been given, much is expected”?. Such is true for Pastors as well. They have been given the special Blessing of becoming a Pastor, and so they also have a very special responsibility-telling the truth about God’s Word.
But we also have a responsibility: To read God’s Word for ourselves and Interpret it for ourselves. Our future in Heaven is forever, and it is too imporant to leave entirely in someone else’s hands. Pastors can be a really great resource and encourageent, but we need to take responsibility for our future ourselves. And so, we each, need to read and understand the Bible ourselves!
While reading the Bible is easy, understanding it is not. But fortunately for us, God gave us a “Helper”. The Holy Spirit. And if we ask the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ Name to help us understand what we are reading-He will.
Read the Bible. Your future matters!
“ And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.”-Daniel 12:1 KJV
Much has been written about the Last Days. But even in the passages that strike great fear in even the most faithful, there are passages of hope.
Such is the case in Daniel 12:1. We are the “children of the people” that this passage talks about. Archangel Michael comes to “stand for us”, to protect to us. Sent by God Himself because He loves us. Clearly there will be times of great trouble, but our Lord will not forget His people-nor their faith in Him.
And we will “be delivered”, for those who have truly accepted Jesus as their Savior WILL be “written in the book”. So hang in there!
Prayers will still be heard and answered. And God will still love us. And we will go to Heaven. Even in the Last Days.
We all, no matter how faithful, have room to grow. Whether there is a sin we need to rid ourselves of, or that we just need to grow in our love for our Lord and all of His people-there’s always room to grow in our faith.
I heard an interesting thing once, “if we expect others to believe what we believe, than we best believe it ourselves”! It makes one think…
If we truly believe that Heaven awaits only those who accept Jesus as their Savior, than we must share that knowledge with others. If we truly believe that there is one God, and only one God, that can protect us, than we must share that as well! And if we truly believe that the Holy Spirit has come to be our Comforter and Friend, than if we love others, we need to share that!
Because if we truly believe all of that, and if we truly believe the only way to Heaven is through faith in Jesus Christ, than we don’t want to leave anyone behind 🙂
As for Revival, we must pray that it starts with each of us. Let us love God and all God’s people with our whole heart and soul. May the Holy Spirit fill our hearts with that love and the courage to share it, for we were born for such a time as this.
In Portland, they are burning Bibles. There are some in California that would rewrite the Bible. There are a number of countries where people are persecuted for having a Bible.
The first step to taking back our God-Given Freedom is to read God’s Word. And we can’t do that if we don’t have an accurate Bible.
So buy one, or better yet-buy two-so you can give it to one to someone who needs one. Be sure each of your children has an accurate Bible. An inexpensive place to purchase Bibles is Christianbook.com. Or order one or more from your favorite Christian Store! But be sure you have an accurate Bible, because the time may be coming when they are hard to purchase.
Hide God’s Word In Your Heart!-Pslam 119:11
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” -Pslam 1119:105
In Nehemiah, Chapter 9 37-38, we see that many of the Jewish people had turned away from God and they paid a great price for it! The Kings that ruled over them had “dominion” over their “bodies and over their cattle.” They were in great “distress”! And all because they turned their backs on our Lord!
Sounds a lot like our country. Our country has turned its back on that which made it great in the first place, Faith in Jesus Christ. Now our government rules us with an iron fist. They control where we can go, whether we can attend church, which medicines we can take, what food we can eat…We have lost our God-Given freedom without a shot being fired. But there are three things they can not control: God, Our Prayers and Heaven.
And there is something else. In Nehemiah 10, it goes on to list those that were “Sealed” by God. What does that mean? It means that they belonged to the Lord Himself. Why? Because they followed God and they did their very best to do as our Lord commanded. And that is what we need to do.
For if we belong to our Father God, ultimately, He will protect us. Because He loves us, and because we belong to Him 😊
There is more written in God’s Word on being Sealed with the Holy Spirit and how you can be Sealed with the Holy Spirit (more on that in future posts) 😊
Is there a food shortage coming? Yes. When, only God knows. But it’s not if, it’s when.
Pray, Prepare and Wait.
America’s Truth is the same as God’s Truth. We were created to be the “City on the Hill”. An inspiration for all that is good and right.
Freedom to choose for all is what God gave us and what we should give to each other. And although our country is far from perfect, we have by and large, been the “City on the Hill” that God intended. And because of that millions have sought to come to this country, and millions more have treasured the traditions and values that built it, and the freedom it offers.
Family, faith and freedom provided by God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. What more could we ask for?
The Bible says “to whom much is given, much is expected”. And that is us and that is America! Much has been given to us by God Himself. And as Alex Kendrik’s movie says, “We don’t get to give in and we don’t get to give up”. This is our country, which makes it our responsibility.
There can be no doubt that we live in extraordinarily difficult times. But we can still be the “City on the Hill”. We can still, each one of us, allow the light of the Holy Spirit to shine through us to each person we meet.
And that is how, we as a country, we prepare for the Last Days, or indeed any day. We love God and we love each other 🙂
There have been many great movies made about the Last Days. And many of them share one common thing, America is somehow sidelined and unable to protect Israel.
Covid 19, the riots, and the upcoming election may well sideline America’s ability and willingness to defend Israel. And since we are Israel’s only real earthly defense, Israel will need God’s defense (a much better defense 😊). And they will receive it!
Do we stand at the beginning of the Last Days. No one truly knows. But even if we do, good people may once again stand up for their faith and all that is good and right, and the Last Days may wait a little longer.
But then again, they may not. We may indeed stand at the beginning of the Last Days. And if that is so, the difficulties we face now will be thought of as the “easy days” compared to what is coming: God’s Judgement on the World.
So what are we as Christians to do?
The answer is the same either way. Pray. Seek God’s Face.
Pray, Prepare and Wait.
Wait upon the Lord for He will lead us 🙂
