“God may appear to be overlooking sin, especially when evil seems to triumph in our day. Rest assured, that with in the very core nature of God is His Justice.”
“He cannot by nature overlook sin.”
“And He has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness. You can be sure of that.”-Jay Fowler
This concept is so important. Why?
For one, forgivness requires true repentance. And true repentance requires both genuine sorrow and change. Do we sometimes fall into the same sin again? Of course we do, for we are weak and God understands that. But God knows the difference between our best effort to lead a Holy life-and not even trying. Because God knows our hearts. And for this, we thank God.
There is another reason that this concept is important. As we look around the world, we see a great many injustices. A great many people hurt. But God is Just! And while He sent His only Son to forgive our sins and bring us to Heaven because He is merciful and loves us, He is also Just.
Those who continue to reject Jesus will not enter the Gates of Heaven. Just as no evil will ever enter the Gates of Heaven. Rest assured, along with God’s Mercy, Justice will come. And unlike some of our courts here on earth, it will be completely Just.
God is as Merciful as He is Just. No matter how dark the days, we can trust Him.
