Lately, it seems we hear about Racism quite a bit. The CRT arguments, the riots and demonstrations, and the growing prejudice of the silent majority… It all serves some of those in the political realm, but does it really serve us?
Having had the privilege of attending an all African American Church, often as the only “white” person, I can assure you that many African Americans love our Lord as much as we do! They were all kind, compassionate and welcoming. Why do many African Americans see issues such as gay marriage and abortion completely differently than many “white” brothers and sisters in Christ, I don’t know. But the truth is that many “white” brothers and sisters in Christ see those issues differently.
And the truth is also, I don’t need to know. All I really need to know is that they are Following Jesus just as I am. They love the Lord just as I do 🙂
Jesus’ command to Love One Another is not just for those we agree with; it’s for everyone!
And when we all love Jesus more than we fear each other, when we all meet at the Cross together, Racism and prejudice will end completely. Thank God!
Because we can be sure of one thing, Heaven will be filled with people of all different colors 🙂
