Acceptance & Peace

Prayer to the Holy Spirit:

O Holy Spirit, Beloved of my soul, I adore You. Enlighten me, guide me, strenthen and console me. Tell me what I ought to do and command me to do it. I promised to submit to everything You ask of me and to accept all that You allow to happen to me. Just show me what is Your will, O Holy Spirit.

“Accepting ALL that You allow to happen to me.” Sometimes things happen to us that we do not like. At all. But part of this prayer is that we accept ALL that the Holy Spirit allows to happen to us.

And there is a certain Peace in that acceptance, no matter what happens to us: we know that the Holy Spirit loves us. He is not going to allow anything to happen to us that is beyond us, with His help. And we will never go through anything that happens to us alone. Most of all, if we can “accept ALL that the” Holy “Spirit allows to happen to us”, we can be sure we will grow closer to God!
