Psalm 91: God Will Protect Us :)

My Refuge and My Fortress

91 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say[a] to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”

For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
    nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
    and see the recompense of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
    the Most High, who is my refuge[b]
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
    no plague come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
    lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
    the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
    I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble;
    I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”

In these difficult days, God is the ONLY one who can truly help us 🙂

“When Did Hate Get So Ordinary”

“Why does kindness seem revolutionary
When did we let hate get so ordinary
Let’s turn it around, flip the script
Judge slow, love quick

The above verse is from the song, “Revolutionary”. Isn’t that what Jesus would do? I’m not saying that’s easy. It’s definitely not. But it is a worthy challenge and it is what Jesus would do 🙂

There is something else as well. When we see all these riots on TV. When we hear about the police officers who had some type of chemical thrown on them? It’s hard not to wish these perpetrators misfortune. But what we need to do, is pray for them. We are going to Heaven, right now they are not.

If we want to win this war of good versus evil, then we need to do it with God and with Prayer. And let Jesus “pull us up” 🙂

Make Sure You Have A Good Bible today!

And while you are at it, make sure you have a Bible for your spouse and each of your children 🙂

Wothy Devotions posted this a few days:

“Amos 8:11-12 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.”

The Government wants to be our God, but we already know our Lord, and His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The Government is not in that mix, nor should they be.

If you don’t already have a Bible, get one-today!

The Apostle to the Apostles :)

“An ancient Christian tradition calls Mary Magdalene  the ‘Apostle to the apostles’ ”.  She was called this because she brought the apostles the news of the Resurrection.”  But many of the men did not believe her!

It takes great courage to share news, even Great News, with those who don’t believe you.

In the “Woman of the Bible Speak” book, it also tells us of how Mary was rescued by Jesus from the seven demons that possessed her.  And yet it goes on to say, ‘the one who has experienced the greatest forgiveness will love the most.”

So perhaps when we see someone who appears to be doing great harm, we need to remember that one day they may seek forgiveness, and love God and God’s People really well ?.

We meet people for a season of their life, or perhaps just one day.  We, all of us, would hate to be judged on our worst day, so perhaps we shouldn’t judge others either. That job belongs to God and God alone.

Instead, when we see someone doing harm, perhaps we can remember how Jesus forgave us ?

“If we are not One Nation Under God, we will be one nation gone under”

“Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;

 Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat” – 1 Kings 16:  1-3

There are many true stories in the Bible.  But this one, sadly, reminds me of America.

Jeroboam was a king who did his best to lead people AWAY FROM GOD.  He was defeated in a great battle with the King of Judah and died shortly after the King of Judah.  Jeroboam had 800,000 soldiers, the King of Judah had 400,000.  But God was with the King of Judah and he won!

How many in leadership in our great nation have pulled away from God?  God’s place in our schools has been removed and the result has been a growing number of school shootings.  Where is God in killing of many innocent unborn babies?   Where is God in the Supreme Court’s decision to support gay marriage?  Where is God in our military’s leadership?  In Congress?  In the White House?

And where is God in our homes?

President Reagan once said, “if we are not One Nation Under God, we will be one nation gone under”.  He was right.

Health Alert!

Did you know that Mosquitos can carry many diseases now?

This may be a good year to spray for mosquitos, especially if you live in an area that is prone to them.

Mosquitos carry many diseases much worse than Covid 19 and can be extremely large! There are also some that have managed to come to America from China. There are also research labs on mosquitos in China. According to some sources, mosquito’s kill 1 million people a year now. Some sources also say that diseases born by mosquitos infect almost one out of 10 people on earth right now.

In Florida, they intend on releasing one billion genetically modified mosquitos from Brazil. Researchers think they may kill other mosquitos, but they carry diseases like Zika and Dengue…

Just a few of the diseases that a mosquito can carry include  Zika virus, West Nile virus, Chikungunya virus, dengue, and malaria…

Who knows what they will carry tomorrow?

Pray. Be Warned and Be Ready!

To Be Loved By God?

What does that mean? What does it feel like?

I can only answer for myself. But for me it means God is always there to love me just as I am. He listens to my every worry no matter how boring. He listens as I chatter on through out the day. He answers my prayers, sometimes yes and sometimes no, but He always answers. He’s gentle with me and His mercy lasts forever, no matter what I do or say, I do not have to be afraid.

I’ve never known a love like this. God is there no matter how many times I fall, and He picks me up. The world judges me by my results. Am I a good employee? Am I good wife? A good mother? A good friend? A doer of good works? But God forgives me always, no matter how many times I fail.

Because I have put my faith in His Son Jesus Christ!

God Loves All People :)

So often we hear the question asked, “What happens to people who do not believe in Jesus?”

So let me be clear, the only way to Heaven is through the acceptance of Jesus Christ and Following Him.  That’s the only safe way, it’s the only way written about in the Bible.

Do we, as human beings who love others, hope that God makes an acception for some.   Of course we do ?.   Because we are just human beings.  But if we truly love that person, then we need to be honest with them and tell them the Truth of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible.  Because Pastor Schaeffer is right, Jesus warned us about Hell because He loved us and didn’t want us to go there.  We need to do the same for those we love.

And Jesus told us how to get to Heaven, a place He prepared  for us, for the same reason.  He loves us.  And we know that is true, because no one would suffer so for someone they didn’t love ?

A friend of mine asked me what happens to people in countries who are not Christian, such as the Middle East?  Jesus has appeared to many people in countries such as these, and will continue to do so until He comes again.  To assume that people in other countries have not had the opportunity to know and accept Jesus is a mistake.  We really don’t know what Christ does in other countries.

And this is also where Trust comes in.  We know that Jesus loves us All, no matter where we live.  Just as we know that God is Merciful and Just.  When it comes to others, we need to Trust that God will do what is right by All people, because we know that God Loves All People.

And we need to recognize that people make their choice-Heaven or Hell, during this life on earth.  And as much as we may wish to, we don’t get to make it for them, because it is a choice God gave them.

There are those who would attempt to discourage us from sharing the Great News Of Jesus Christ.  Don’t let them, for it IS Great News.  For Jesus has not only made a way to Heaven for us, He will help us in this life as well ?

The Day of the Lord!

In Zechariah 14, it speaks to us of the Last Days.  For many of us, we tend to think of Revelations, Daniel or Matthew when we think of the Last Days.  But the truth is, verses regarding the Last Days are in many places in the Bible.  It’s an important day ?

And it will come. That’s why we need to get ready and we need to help others get ready.

The Day of the Lord is coming for all of us.  Some look forward to it, and some not so much.  But no matter how we feel or whether we believe, it’s coming.

Truth has only one version!

Jesus will ultimately Save all of those who choose to accept Him.

Don’t Wait!

Zechariah 14:  1-9:

“Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:

But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.”-

Be Ready!
