Peter’s Message of Hope!

“The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations; and to reserve the unjust to the day of judgements to be punished
.”-2 Peter 2:9

There are some who may wonder why this is a message of Hope. It’s a message of Hope because we who follow Christ try not to fall into temptation, but some times we do. Peter is simply saying God knows how to rescue us 🙂

But He is also saying He will punish the unjust. And that to is a comfort. Because let’s face it, watching people who hurt the innocent and the faithful is hard. It’s helps knowing that one day they will be held accountable.

We can Trust God; He has it all in Hand 🙂

Peter: God’s Justice

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

So why would we think that we can do whatever we want-when we want?

We all enjoy thinking of God’s Mercy. I know I do :). But God is equally Just and we need to remember that 🙂

Peter: It is worse for the Believer who turns from God than someone who never Believed At All!

“It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.”2 Peter 2:21

“You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that–and shudder”-James 2:19

This is such an important Biblical concept, especially since so many Christians are “falling away” during these days of apostasy.

We, who follow Jesus, often don’t think about it much, but it is from the Bible and it is true. For those who have known Jesus, been taught about the Gospel, but later turned away, the consequences will be much worse.

And if we think about it, it makes sense. God is Just, as well as Merciful. It is only Just that a person who was given a real chance at Salvation, but turned away, face harsher consequences.

It’s a lesson we don’t think about often, but it is also Peter’s warning to us. The Bible tells us much that is “good” news to us, but it also warns us of the dangers we face.

And for our own sake, we need to heed both 🙂

The Music Of Angels

It’s said by many that there will be much music in Heaven praising God. And I know that there are some who wonder, deep down, if they will enjoy that music as much as they enjoy the music on earth. Because let’s face it, as awesome as Angels are, we don’t really know what their singing sounds like.

But I promise that we can Trust that we will love it! There is some music, here on earth, that we don’t know what the words say, only what is sounds like. Andre Bocelli is a good example. His music and the sounds are beautiful, but they are different from what many of us are used too. The Mannheim Steamrollers is another example. I can remember sitting for hours holding my son listening to their version of Silent Night. It had no words, but it was truly beautiful.

We don’t know what the singing of Angels will sound like, but we do know this: It will be beautiful and we will love it 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day Mary :)

Mary has been called the World’s Mother. And indeed she is :). She is Jesus’ Mother and she is mine :). And for that, I am so grateful 🙂

I wanted to share with all of you an experience I had recently. I was praying for my earthly Mom. She is an assisted living home and in her eighties. Naturally, at her age she suffers the usual ache and pains. And because of the lock downs during Covid 19, she has suffered even more.

Each day I pray 10 Hail Marys , an Our Father and a Glory Be To God. (I pray for others as well 🙂 ) , but these are the prayers I pray for my Mom. And not long ago, God told me they would be answered.

Shortly after that, I was searching for a gift for my Mom and found the most beautiful throw with Mary surrounded by Angels. I sent it to my Mom and wondered at the Gift.

Not long after that, I sent my Mom a book, “The Imitation of Christ”. My Dad, who had went to Heaven several years ago, had it and I received it when he went to Heaven.

My Mom called me when she received it, turns out it wasn’t my Dad’s. It was hers-when she was a little girl. How amazing, I had sent her a book from her youth at a time when she most needed her faith! And I didn’t even know it!

Coincidence? “God-incidence”? Miracle? You choose. I choose Miracle 🙂

And that is how Mary loves us. She prays for us constantly. And since our Father – God and Jesus loves her so, why wouldn’t they answer her pleas on our behalf.

So thank you Mary. For understanding just how much I love my Mom here on earth and for loving both of us so. Happy Mother’s Day 🙂

Loving Jesus & Being Loved By Jesus :)

A friend of mine asked me the other day-“why do I do what I do?” And the first thought that came to mind is that I am so grateful for all Jesus has done for me :). And that is true.

But I ended up thinking about that more when I got home, and praying about it. And I realize that I love Jesus for so many reasons, and especially for sacrificing so much so that I could go to Heaven.

But it’s more than that. It’s that Jesus loves me! Really loves me :). And He loved me first. Before I even conciously knew Him, He was with me. Like any one else, I’ve had my share of bumps and bruises, but Jesus has never left me. He’s walked with me through all of it.

And although I have left Him a time or two; Jesus has never abandoned me. And no matter what, when I was ready to return to Him, He welcomed me with open arms and a hug 🙂

With Jesus, there is no fear or failure too great. He loves me unconditionally and always with a love that knows no boundaries. And I am Blessed to know that 🙂

And the Joy and Peace that God fills me with is indescrible, and I wish I could share it with everyone!

And if there is anything good in me, it’s the Holy Spirit. Our Father sent Him to be our Comforter and Friend, and He has been so much more than that 🙂

I can’t wait to meet my Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I know that the Joy that God has given me on earth is only a very small portion of what is waiting for me when I get to Heaven 🙂

And it all started when Jesus became my Best Friend 🙂

He can be yours too 🙂

Godly Choices :)

“3 Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:  But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.“-Jeremiah 9:23-24

It is simply human nature to want to feel good about the choices we make in this life. And, in a sense, we want to feel proud of them.

Because we, who follow Jesus, give all glory and thanks to God for all the Blessings and good in our life, it can be human nature to ask, “if God is responsible for all the good, what did I do right?

What did we do “right”? We chose to Follow Jesus 🙂

Can You Loose Your Salvation?

This Pastor does such a great job answering the question, “Can you loose your Salvation”. He answers, “No”, but reminds the people that if they “loose it”, it’s because they didn’t have it in the first place. And that is the truth!

As a side note, what wonderful care he takes of the students in his church!

Can you loose your Salvation? Not if you were Truly Saved 🙂
