The Safe Space: Living In God’s Will!

There can be no doubt that if there is one thing we want to know during these difficult times, it’s that we want to know we are doing exactly what God wants us to ?.   And no matter how hard we try, it can be difficult to know that we are.

I read something recently by F.B. Meyer who was a famous Pastor many years ago from London.  A friend D.L. Moody’s, he was a Baptist Preacher.  And I thought he put it really well.  He spoke of there being three lights guiding us. “ God’s Word (The Bible), God’s Providence (Circumstances) and the Holy Spirit (thoughts from God)”

In praying and thinking about it, that does simplify it quite a bit ?.  If we are feeling there’s an action we should take or a direction we should go, then it should fall within those parameters.  If God wants a door open, He will open it (God’s Providence).  If God wants us to do something, it won’t contradict His Word (The Bible).  And we will have peace about it (The Holy Spirit).  And if what we want to do falls within all of these, than we can be pretty sure that we are in God’s Will.

Of all of these though, most important is the Guidance of the Holy Spirit, who God sent to be our Comforter.  The Holy Spirit IS God’s Confirmation of Living in His Will.

26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”- John 14:26

And be comforted by this, God counts your effort!  If you choose “wrongly”, but sought God’s Guidance through prayer and all of the above.  Know that God loves you and appreciates your love for Him and your efforts to seek His guidance.

The Safe Space

Remember when, not all that long ago, the provision of a Safe Place was THE hot topic for many in the media and in many colleges.  They were obsessed.

But how mistaken they were.

For the ONLY “safe space” is with our Lord.  For our help, our hope, comes from the Lord and only from the Lord.  It doesn’t matter where we are physically; it matters where we are spiritually. Being with God is like flying and cuddling in bed all at the same time 🙂

If we are with Jesus-we will be “safe”.  And more than “safe”, we will have a peace and joy that only God can give.  So do not fear those in this world, their power is limited and finite.  But God’s power is infinite and eternal.

And He’s got you and He’s got those you love ?

Hope In God’s Word :)

We all need hope sometimes, something to hold onto when the going gets tough.  There’s a reason God said that we should hide His Word in our heart (Psalm 119:11).  Just as there is a good reason that God said His Word would light our path (Psalm 115:105 KJV)

So here are some of God’s Words to hold onto  ?

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”-Jeremiah 29:11 (God has a great plan for you)

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” – 1 Peter 5:10 (Suffering is temporary)

“And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children, because she considered Him faithful who had made the Promise”  -Hebrew 11:11 (Miracles still happen)

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31 (God will help us)

“If you can? said Jesus.  Everything is possible for him who believes”-Mark 9:23 (With God, All Things Are Possible)

“But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.” -Psalm 9:18 (With God, there is always Hope.  He will provide for us)

“16 So we do not lose heart.  Though our outer self[a is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”-2 Corinthians  4:16-18 (No matter how much we  are suffering, it’s temporary.  Heaven is real and we are going home one day)

“But the eyes of the Lord are on him who fears Him; on those whose hope is in His unfailing love”-Psalm 33:18 (God is always watching after us, because He loves us)

“Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you” – 1 Peter 5:7 (Stay in God’s Will and your anxieties will fade)

“58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”- 1 Corintheans 15;58 (Don’t give up!  Jesus is Coming)

So my friends, hold on to these verses in your heart.  Jesus IS Coming Back, God DOES Keep His Promises, and Heaven IS Real ?

How To Change The World :)

A friend sent me this, just had to share 🙂

“It was the ninth week of SEAL training, which is referred to as Hell Week. It is six days of no sleep, constant physical and mental harassment and one special day at the Mud Flats. The Mud Flats is in an area between San Diego and Tijuana, where the water runs off and creates the Tijuana slues – a swampy patch of terrain where the mud will engulf you. It is on Wednesday of Hell Week that you paddle down to the mud flats and spend the next 15 hours trying to survive the freezing cold mud, the howling wind and the on going pressure from the instructors to quit. As the sun begins to set that Wednesday evening, their training class was ordered into the mud. The mud consumed each person till there was nothing visible but their heads. The instructors told them they could leave the mud if only five of them would quit – just five – and all could get out of the bitter cold.

Looking around the mud flat, one individual noticed that it was apparent that some students were about to give up. It was still over eight hours until the sun came up – eight more hours of bone-chilling cold. The chattering teeth and shivering moans of the trainees were so loud it was hard to hear anything. And then, one voice began to echo through the night – one voice raised in song! The song was terribly out of tune, but sung with great enthusiasm. One voice became two, and two became three, and before long everyone in the class was singing! They knew that if one person could rise above the misery then others could as well. The instructors threatened them with more time in the mud if they kept up the singing – but the singing persisted. And somehow, the mud seemed a little warmer, the wind a little tamer and the dawn NOT so far away!

If you learn anything in your moments granted on earth, it IS the Power of Hope! The power of one person – Washington, Lincoln, King, Mandela, a young girl from Pakistan named Malala – and YES, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior! When you are up to your neck in mud – tired and shivering from the cold of the world, attempting its best to try to make you quit – start singing Praises to your Heavenly Father – thanking Him to give you Hope, that no matter how tough it gets – He IS ALWAYS there to help your life have Joy and Peace. Know that He IS your Hope, your Comfort, your Light in the darkness – your Son come up! Be His Example – change the world! In Jesus’ Name. Thy Will be done. Amen. “

Where Is The Hope?

“Where is the hope? I meet millions who tell me that they feel demoralized by the decay around us. Where is the hope? The hope that each of us have is not in who governs us, or what laws are passed, or what great things that we do as a nation. Our hope is in the power of God working through the hearts of people, and that’s where our hope is in this country; that’s where our hope is in life.”-Chuck Colson

Our hope lies in our Lord.  It always has and it always will!  It’s not just that He has the power to help us, it’s that He loves us all-every single one of us!  It’s that Heaven is coming and it’s so much more REAL than anyone can imagine.

“Heaven in the Real World” is an old song, but it’s an important one.  Because our government’s leaders can’t “fix” all that is wrong in our country.  Only we can do that-and we can only do that with God’s Help.

A Prayer For Our Nation

These are difficult times, we hope you will join us in praying for our nation!

A Prayer For Our Nation

What does Seeking God’s Face mean?  It means seeking His Presence.  One has only to look around our country to see that God’s Presence is desperately needed-Today!  Now!

And God has always kept His Promises.  Always!  And one of God’s Promises is that:

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”   2 Chronicles 7:14

Please join us in our heartfelt Prayer for our nation:

We pray for our nation Father, because we truly love all it has been and all it could be.

We know that we, as a nation, are not perfect, for only You are perfect.

But we also know that we have been incredibly Blessed by You, and will be forever grateful.

Please Bless us with Your Presence Father

And please Bless us all with the faith and courage we will need in order to preserve this great nation. A nation formed by You.  Thank You!

A nation is made up of all its people, and its faith in You and love for one another.

And so we ask You to draw each of us to You; to fill each one of us with the Holy Spirit.

Open our eyes Lord, so that we might see the truth-Your Truth.

And to save America-as only You can ?

We ask all of this in Jesus Name.  Amen.

We hope you will join us in this heartfelt prayer for our nation.  Please pray now!  Don’t wait.  Because our country desperately needs God’s Presence now.
