“Violence Shall No More Be Heard In Your Land”

“Violence shall no more be heard in your land”-Isaiah 60-18

“No more violence”, hard to imagine, especially since our world seems filled with violence. But there will be “no more violence” in Heaven. For all eternity, there will be Peace.

Jesus is the Bridge between earth and Heaven, don’t miss the chance to Cross that Bridge :).

Ministering To God’s People

“If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies,” – 1 Peter 11

What does it mean, to speak as “the oracles of God”. In this verse, it means that we should only speak what God Wills us to speak. To go beyond that is a grave sin. One thing that may help us is that our speech should never contradict God’s Word (The Holy Bible)

In times of trouble especially, we can be tempted to “minister” to God’s People by speaking words of hope and comfort. And this is good.

However, it is important that we do not “minister” to God’s People beyond the “ability which God supplies”. In other words, we must not give God’s People more than God Wills and we must not lighten God’s Warnings to His People.

It is important that when we “minister” to God’s People, we speak only God’s Truth as it is, not as what we might wish it were…

Thy Will Be Done!

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”–Jesus, Matthew 6:9-13

How thankful I am that Jesus gave us these words to pray to our Father :). And the words “thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” may be the ones we need to focus on most right now. For in Heaven there is no sin, there is only God’s Will. And is that not what we need right now?

In Heaven, there is only Love, Peace and Joy. Could we not use a little of that right now? In Heaven there are wonderful hugs, friendships and God’s Will is always done. Because God knows us and loves us best :).

True Forgiveness Is Hard!

“And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us” -Matthew 6:12

I am so grateful that Jesus gave us this prayer, because I sometimes struggle with this. Deciding to forgive someone feels relatively easy, but forgiving as God forgive us seems so much harder!

“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” -Psalm 103:12

This Bible verse is what I struggle with. I have sometimes decided to forgive someone (after all God forgives me :). But then I take it back! I start thinking of how much that person hurt me, and yet when God forgives our “transgressions”, our “transgressions“ become “as far as the “east is from the west”.

So what I really do sometimes I think, is I forgive someone, but then I take it back. As my friend often says, I am not Christian because I am so perfect, but because I need Help :).

And so when forgiveness is a struggle, I simply ask God for Help 🙂
