“Oh, to realize that souls, precious, never dying souls, are perishing all around us, going out into the blackness of darkness and despair, eternally lost, and yet to feel no anguish, shed no tears, know no travail! How little we know of the compassion of Jesus!”-Oswald J. Smith (Evangelical Preacher & Missionary, born in 1890 in Toronto)
“But you shall be named priests of the Lord”-Isaiah 61:6
There is none like Jesus. It’s heartbreaking to realize that there are some that will never know Him. That there are so many compassionate, kind people who will never see Heaven. Because no one goes to Heaven without Jesus.
Let their eternal loss not be because we didn’t share the Gospel with them! And let us pray that our hearts do not harden to their loss!
It’s hard to share the Gospel, especially with those who seem uninterested. But the alternative, Hell, makes it worthwhile-always! One way to think of it is as if we won the lottery and we knew where the next winning ticket was. Wouldn’t we want to tell all those we cared about where it was?
Another way to think about it is that if the person accepts Jesus as their Savior, not only do they go to Heaven, they get to have a “best friend” to walk through their lives with them. Everyday, they will have Jesus to turn to. And Jesus will never let them down. He will love them no matter what! Isn’t that something we want for everyone?
That said, society has made it harder and harder to share the Gospel. Let us pray to have the courage to share it every day-anyway!
