Peer pressure is a hard thing to resist these days. And I’m not just talking about high school, I’m talking about adults in the workplace. How often do we refrain from saying what we think because we are afraid of how others will react? How often are we afraid to speak the truth, and there is only one, because we are afraid of how others will react to it? Especially during a time where everyone says “my truth” and yet there’s only one truth. God’s.
And when we are out in the world, how often do we hear the Name of Jesus mentioned? We all want Him to be our Savior and bring us to Heaven, and yet we don’t mention His name in public.
Somehow, even the mention of Jesus Christ’s Name has become something that we are afraid to do in the work place, in the grocery store, shopping, and whenever we are out in public. And yet it is Jesus’s Name that we call on when ever we are in need or trouble.
In other countries, the mere mention of Jesus’s Name may put someone’s life in danger, but they do it anyway. Here, the only problem may be a bit of peer pressure. What does that make us?
We need to change this-now! It’s our responsibility to do so! And let’s face it, we are the first ones to tell our children that they need to stand up to peer pressure. But we need to set the example and do so ourselves!
How? Find a way to mention Jesus’s Name in public today. And tomorrow and the next day. If we expect Jesus to help us; we need to start standing for Him!
