“Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the Lord’s anger.”– Zephaniah 2:3
Jesus is our Hope. Jesus is our only Hope.Because Jesus is our only way to God 🙂
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say[a] to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
“For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.”
“A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.”
“Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—the Most High, who is my refuge-no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.”- Psalm 91:1-8
The only Safe Place is with God. And the only way to God is through accepting and following Jesus Christ 🙂
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”-2 Chronicles 7:14
There stood a boy next to the American Flag. And then there was an explosion.
The American Flag stood.
A very large pile of Bibles burned in a large bonfire.
A warship came.
I heard the word, “Iran”
All seen and heard while Praying the Rosary
Note: While only God knows when Jesus will return; when Jesus returns it will be for the final Judgement. God may Judge this nation before that, as He has Judged many nations in the past…
On a carpet of red and gold leaves, with a canopy of red and gold leaves above me, with the sun shining through, I could not help but be in awe of the beauty surrounding me.
And yet, a war ship sailed slowly by me…
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.”-2 Corinthians 4:18
For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is forever 🙂
If we believe in God; we must believe what He says. After all, if we love someone here on earth; we believe them and trust that what they say is true. It is the same with God.
God gave us His Word for many reasons, but one of them is so that we would know how to live. So that we would know which actions are sin and which are not. He gave us His Word so that we would learn more about Him. He gave us His Word so that we might have hope :).
So often, we read a commentary, hear from a friend or read God’s Word ourselves. But if we really wish to understand what the Bible says, we need to read the Bible with the Holy Spirit.
The Bible is very clear and easy to understand with the Help of the Holy Spirit. We disregard the Bible’s teachings at our own peril.
Many have asked, “Will God Punish Our Nation For Its’ Behavior?”
God does not have to punish our nation perse. He need only lift His Hand of Protection…
If we each read the Bible every day, we will, each of us, be able to know ourselves whether God is going to lift His Hand 🙂
God gave us His Word so we would know just how much He loves us and how to get Home 🙂
” Thus says the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
“But let him that glories glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, says the Lord.” – Jeremiah 9:23-24
We all worry about the future. And after all, the future does not look that good. And whether it is issues such as the moral decay of our society and in our public schools, inflation, the economy, jobs, illegal immigration, lawlessness or whether it is issues such as national security and war, we all worry, especially for our children.
We have two choices. We can walk through these troubling times alone or we can walk through them holding God’s Hand. Holding God’s Hand is definitely the better choice 🙂
There was a great poem written years ago called Footprints in the Sand. A partial quote from it said,
“I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why, when I needed you the most, You would leave me?”
“He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you Never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you.”
War is coming, whether we believe it or not. This I have seen. There is a quote from our Blessed Mother Mary that provides comfort to some: “But when [evil] seems triumphant and when authority abuses its power, committing all manner of injustice and oppressing the weak, their ruin shall be near. They will fall and crash to the ground.” – Our Blessed Mother Mary in Ecuador, 15th/16th Century
“Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the Lord’s anger.”-Zephaniah 2:3
What is “meekness”. Meekness, according to regent.edu is “essentially an attitude or quality of heart whereby a person is willing to accept and submit without resistance to the will and desire of someone else. 24. In the case of Christians, this is God.”
Sound familiar? “all you Meek of the earth” is simply those willing to accept the Will of God “without resistanceand abide by it 🙂
“God’s Word shares a story regarding the Apostle Paul, when he is speaking of a “thorn in the flesh”: “And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it may depart from me”. (2 Corinthians 12:7-9). Paul does not define what the “thorn in the flesh” is but gives us a clue concerning the thorn’s purpose – to keep him from becoming conceited. So, God’s goal in allowing this was to keep Paul humble. Paul goes further with God’s response to his wanting this to leave him and his thoughts after, “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
No one likes to live in pain. Paul sought the Lord three times to remove this source of pain from him. He probably had many good reasons in his mind why: he could have a more effective ministry; he could reach more people with gospel; he could glorify God even more! But the Lord was more concerned with building Paul’s character and preventing pride. Instead of removing the problem, whatever it was, God gave Paul more overwhelming His Grace and more compensating His Strength. Paul learned that God’s “power is made perfect in weakness”. The exact nature of Paul’s “thorn in the flesh” is uncertain. Truly, there is a good reason that we don’t know. God likely wanted Paul’s difficulty to be described in general enough terms to apply to any hardship we may face now. Whether the “thorn” we struggle with today is physical, emotional, or spiritual, we know and may rest upon that God has a purpose and that His Grace IS ALL-Sufficient!
My thoughts and prayers are that, whatever your “thorn in the flesh” you or loved ones are experiencing, that you truly trust God’s Grace in being ALL that you or they need to have His Joy and Peace. Surely, it IS not easy and IS tough to deal with on your own, but you don’t have to. Your Heavenly Father welcomes you to surrender your “thorn” to Him. He may remove it or not, either way He IS wanting and needing you to become closer to and in Him and He in you, now and forever. In Jesus’ Name. Thy Will be done. Amen. Peace“
