How To Keep Our Faith Strong: Prayer

“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

“He said to them, “When you pray, say”:

“‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.
And lead us not into temptation'”-Luke 11:1-4

Prayer is the anchor of strong faith. And whether we feel God’s Heavenly Presence or not, we need prayer like we need the air that we breathe. So our goal: is to Pray like we breathe 🙂

Someone once asked me how it was that my faith stayed so strong. And the answer was, and is, prayer and God’s Gift.

We can ask God to give us the Gift of Faith, and He will. And He will be pleased that we asked Him :). This Gift can only be given by God Himself. But we can ask :). And if we don’t see immediate results, we can keep asking and we can keep praying!

The other answer is Prayer. Years ago, my Dad taught me to keep praying, whether I felt like it or not. Whether I felt that God was there-or not. This lesson has stood me in good stead. Sometimes I pray passionately, sometimes I just share with God about my day. The things that I am grateful for and the things that I worry about. And He is always happy to hear from me :). Sometimes I either don’t feel that He is listening or answering the way I wish, it is in these times I need to pray most of all. Sometimes it’s an Our Father, sometimes it’s a Hail Mary, sometimes its a Glory Be To God. For there are times where I simply can’t find the words, but I keep praying anyway 🙂

So please, never stop praying. And one very important prayer: Please God, if I ever fail to hold onto You, please hold on to me 🙂

And lastly, I always end my prayers with God’s Will Be Done. For I know that God loves me and wants the best for me. And I trust that He knows better than I do what is good for me. For I only know my todays and my yesterdays, God knows all of my tomorrows 🙂

Faith is not about how we feel every day, it’s about who we choose to follow every day 🙂

Follow Jesus 🙂
