We need not allow fear and worry to rule us. Instead, we can choose God’s Peace 🙂

Psalm 91

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
² I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

³ Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the ^[a]fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
⁴ He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and ^[b]buckler.
⁵ You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
⁶ Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

Most of us, if we are honest, will admit that being loved by a person of great power is comforting.  We feel safe.  But here on earth, love is often conditional.  And earthly love doesn’t always last forever!  And although this powerful earthly person may appear to have great power or great riches, he or she could also lose that power or lose those riches…

Being loved by God is to be loved by a person who truly loves us and will never, ever stop loving us.  His love is unconditional!  He created the world in which we live.  The earth and the stars, the sun and the rain, the mountains and seas, not to mention us!  There is no one anywhere who can compare to our Father. 

And we can trust God!  He loves us and wants only the best for us.  In this world, Jesus told us that in this world, “we would have troubles.  But in Heaven, there will be no troubles!

His Great Love for us is why our Father was willing to watch His only Son suffer, die and rise and ascend to Heaven.  It wasn’t that watching His only Son suffer so didn’t cause our Lord great pain; it’s that He loved us that much!

Our Father’s Love is a Love we can Trust.  A Love we can be Grateful for.  And a Love that will never leave us ?

Prepare, Pray and Be Read

Trusting God when things are not going well is a hard thing to do.  But there are a few things that we can focus on that may help us to do just that ?

God doesn’t just know our today, He knows all of our tomorrows.  But we only know what today feels like, God knows what our tomorrows will feel like.  And He loves us.  Today may seem difficult or even painful, but it may also prevent an even harder day in the future.

When our heart feel filled with our fears, we have a choice.  We can allow ourselves to be consumed by our fears, or we can turn to God and Pray God’s Will be done.  Trusting God does not mean that we will  necessarily get the outcome we want, it means that we Trust that whatever the outcome is, it is God’s Will for us and it is what is best for us and for those we love.

And that may be so very hard.  We may shed tears, we may feel pain, even great pain…But we do have a choice.  We can grow closer to our Lord during this time or we can pull away.  It’s our choice.  Given to us by God Himself.  But I promise you this, anyone who chooses to grow closer to God will be wonderfully rewarded!

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” – John 13:34

There are so many ways that we can love one another. :). A great friend just sent me this: “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at will change. Be kind. Love like Jesus Christ. Amen. Peace. “. 🙂

A food crisis is coming. Food will be expensive and short on supply. One practical way we can “love one another” is to share what we have! Perhaps your neighbor is having trouble affording food for the first time ever and is too proud to ask for help, 0ffer! It’s okay to ask your neighbor or workmate if they need anything. Or perhaps specifically – if they need groceries.

We can easily give a grocery gift card or actual groceries. Sometimes a gift card to the grocery store is easier, since we don’t always know what they need. We can donate food to a local food bank or a shelter. Or if we don’t have the money to do that, we can volunteer our time a church or a local food bank. They desperately need volunteers!

We can pray for that family! Prayer is always good! This is especially important if we can not afford to help them financially or with food, but they need help. Pray for them that they will receive the help they need!

Sometimes we feel overwhelmed ourselves; we don’t “feel” like helping anyone else. But God can change those feelings! We can ask God, in Jesus’ Name, to change the way we “feel”.

We can ask God to change us . In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

We can choose to help in so many ways, but it is important that we help each other in the coming days! That to is part of “loving one another”.

Being friends with God, is in some ways no different than being friends with someone on earth. It takes spending time together, really knowing each other and learning to Trust one another. Prayer and reading the Bible with the Help of the Holy Spirit can really help us spend time with God.

Thank goodness, dare I say Thank God, we are all capable of that 🙂
