There are so many reasons that we love God. But there are a few we all think of often: God Loved Us First 🙂
Jesus suffered and died on the Cross and created a bridge for us to Cross back to a relationship with our Father. Jesus suffered and died on that Cross so that we could come Home to Heaven 🙂
God’s Love for us is unconditional. God loves us no matter what!
Those are just three, but three important ones 🙂
We need to take a moment and think about our own love for God. It’s important, for a time of choosing is comingand coming quickly.
Sometimes God’s love seems so distant. But it’s not. It’s personal. He loves each of us in a way that is so unconditional and so complete, that it is hard for us to understand. Because let’s face it, we don’t really love like that.
For example, if our spouse cheats on us, we sometimes divorce them. If a friends betrays us, we often just cut them out of our life. And when someone disagrees with us often enough, we may stop spending time with us.
And then there are those who harm us. And those who protest FOR the very things we think are wrong.
But we could be any of those people, and God would still love us. Because His love is truly unconditional.
There is nothing we can do that will cause God to stop loving us. While we are alive, there is no sin that would stop Him from loving us. The closest we come to that on earth, is the love a mother or father has for their child. Because that love is so incredible.
What have I done to deserve love like this. I can not earn what you so freely give” – Love like this, Lauren Daigle
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” -John 4:9-10
It’s hard sometimes to realize or even to believe in God’s Love for us. We don’t deserve it. We didn’t earn it. But God gives it to us anyway 🙂
God is always Faithful, even when we are not. That alone makes Him far more trustworthy than we are :).
But trusting God does not mean that we will never experience hard times. Jesus warned us that in this world “we would have troubles”. But it does mean that we will never, ever walk through these troubles alone.
We don’t even have to be the strongest, or even the bravest, because God’s Got Us 🙂
One thing that is important though before we Trust anyone is knowing that they truly have our best interests at heart. And we know that God does, because He loves us so! And because He said so:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”-Jeremiah 29:11
Difficult days lay ahead. Not only will we be safer if we Trust the Lord, but we can be at Peace and Fear NOT 🙂
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall [a]direct your paths.”- Proverbs 3:5-6
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.” – Jeremiah 17:7-8
Trust, however, takes practice. We need to practice now! So that when the dark days come, we will be ready!
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” -Joshua 1:9
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” – Isaiah 41:10
“Children of God Be Who You Are!”-Come On, Brooke Poindexter
God has commanded us to be of “good courage”. And courage is definitely needed to pursue a Biblical Life in the times in which we live. My Dad, who now lives in Heaven, use to say that “Courage was the facing of fear; not the absence of it.”
I always thought that was a great way of putting it. Fear is a feeling that we can not always escape, but we can choose to act anyway :). And our decision to act is made easier in that we know God will Help us :).
“For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people; but the Lord shall arise upon you, and His glory shall be seen upon you.” – Isaiah 60:2
What is darkness really? Is is so many things: war, poverty, persuading others to hate one another, manipulating the people to do wrong, the media reporting that which they know not to be true, it’s the government ignoring its own laws, it’s lawlessness, it’s the rise of transgenderism and gay marriage, it’s abortion, it’s teachers and parents who not only fail to protect the innocence of our youth, but pervert it! It’s the rise of the occult and witchcraft. And that names just a few!
Where evil flourishes, darkness grows.
And make no mistake, we are either pursuing good or we are pursuing evil. We are growing in our relationship with Jesus, or we are falling away.
However, no matter where we are, the only way to protect ourselves and our families, is to ask God for Help. And God will Help us, because He loves us 🙂
“Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.” – Daniel 12:3
Daniel 12 tells us of a time to come; the end days and the end of time on earth. Believers love to dwell on the Heaven to come, non-believers who are not coming-don’t.
Going to Heaven will be amazing and we can’t wait ?. But we also want to bring as many with us as possible.
Even now, the darkness in our world is growing. Whether it be the growing number of wars, the falling of all that is moral and good, the growth of atheism and the occult or the adults who no longer protect the innocence of our children…darkness is spreading throughout our world.
We need to be the light that we were created to be! We need to share our Hope in the Lord, and our Faith that helps us to stay on the path. We need to keep loving God and we need to love His people-all of them.
No matter how bad their actions may appear, we were all born the same-loved by God. And because God loves each of us; He wants each of us to come Home to Heaven. Just like God, we can’t give up on anyone!
We need to practice being that “bright light” now so that we can share our Hope and Faith with others! ?
Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.”-Matthew 23:23
Jesus taught us so much ?. Clearly, tithing is a good thing. As is volunteering our time and participating in church. It’s not necessarily about what we get, but about what we give.
But all of that is pointless, if we miss the main message: How important “justice, mercy and faithfulness” are. These are the “more important” parts of the law. Justice and Mercy both matter.
And God is faithful, even when we are not. We need to learn to be the same ?
“A young girl was walking along a beach upon which thousands of starfish had been washed up during a terrible storm. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up, and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement.
She had been doing this for some time when a man approached her and said, “Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!
The girl seemed crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied,
“Well, I made a difference for that one!”
The old man looked at the girl inquisitively and thought about what she had done and said. Inspired, he joined the little girl in throwing starfish back into the sea. Soon others joined, and all the starfish were saved.” -The StarfishChange.org
If one person is Saved, it matters to that person. And it matters to God!
