The Invitation :)

“The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.”-Revelations 22:17

Clearly the “Spirit” is the Holy Spirit, but who is the “bride”?  The “bride” is us, all those who truly believe in Jesus and accept Him as our Savior.

Revelations has confused many through the years, but this part is clear.  It’s simply an Invitation to all who have not yet truly accepted Jesus as their Savior. “Come”

That we live in difficult times is also clear, but Christians will not remain here forever.  Below is an excerpt from Revelations 22, what a beautiful word-picture of our lives to come:

“Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb ² down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. ³ No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. ⁴ They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. ⁵ There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.”-Revelations 22:1-5

And all we have to do to get there, is accept Christ’s Invitation ?
