Sharing Our Faith :)

“Believe what you do believe, or else you will never persuade anybody else to believe it.”-Charles Spurgeon

If we truly believe in Jesus and all that the Bible teaches us; why wouldn’t we share it?

For those who are not Christian, many do not understand. They think that Christians are “pushing” their faith on them. But the reality is that is not unlike winning the lottery and knowing where another winning ticket can be found! Of course, we should share it!

Christians are going to Heaven and they simply want to share their good fortune and a “ticket” so someone they love can get there too!

To have a “ticket” to Heaven and not share it is selfish! As Christians, we have to share it :). And if we truly believe in Jesus and all that He said, we will.

My One Safe Place :)

A fellow Christian asked on line yesterday, “what do we do now?”  Clearly, America is not what it used to be.

Andrew Peterson has a song called “My One Safe Place”.  In the song, he sings, “You are my oasis in the eye of the hurricane”.  God IS our One Safe Place.  We need to run, not walk, to His Shelter.

And we need to Pray.  Even when we don’t “feel” like it.  Especially when we don’t “feel” like it.  And a prayer can be as simple as “Help, In the Name of Jesus”.  And that is enough.  Another great prayer is also very simple, “Thank you, In the Name of Jesus”.

We also need to look for the beauty in our world-and find it.  Because God created it.  The smile of a child.  A hug from someone we love.  The love of a mother and a father, a wife and husband, a child.  The laugh of a grandmother or grandfather.  A phone call from a friend.  A letter from someone we care about. The sun sparkling on the water creating a million lights.  The beauty of nature.  The list is endless and it is still here…

And we can be kind, especially to each other. We can smile at one another. Carry the groceries for someone elderly or sick. Reach out to a neighbor. Reach out to a stranger. Love God and Love one another.

And share the Gospel with those who want to hear the Good News. There are many searching for something to believe them, help them find the way.

America may have changed, but being a Christian has not.

Our Father is still here and He loves us.  Jesus is still here and He still saved us.  And the Holy Spirit is still here to help us.

Despite appearances, we need not fear, for God is here and He is with us!

Don’t Let Anger Win!

Ending their prayer for the opening of the “new” congress with Amen awoman, our nation has chosen its path:  Judgement.

This year, it will be difficult not to become angry with some of the actions we are forced to witness.  We will be angry at the lack of respect of our Lord, the mistreatment of good people, the laws passed by Congress… and so much more…

But as the Lord says in Romans 12:19, “ Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord”  We need not “get even”, in the end, God will see that Justice is done.

But that still leaves the emotion of our anger to deal with.  What can we do with that? We can ask our Father in Jesus’ Name to lighten that burden, for it is too heavy for us to carry.  And we can consciously work at remembering to pity those who do not follow Christ.  For when we truly think about it, one day in Hell is too long.  Imagine an eternity?   It’s not a fate we would wish anyone.,,

So when anger fills your heart, justified or not, empty it.  Remember that steady determination will accomplish much more than uncontrolled anger.  Instead, shift your focus.  Focus on your future in Heaven and on Jesus who will bring us there.  Focus on the natural beauty of the world that God created for us.  Focus on those you love.

Ask God in Jesus’ Name for the Peace that only He can give.  Ask the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ Name for Help.  Pray Always, especially when you don’t feel like it.

As the saying goes, “Never Give Up & Never Give In”.  If we fall, and we will, with Christ’s Help, GET UP!  We KNOW where we are going.  And we KNOW how to get there.  Follow Jesus.  Trust God. And we will meet in Heaven-together 🙂

The War For Our Souls!

There is a War For Our Souls happening right now. The world tells us continually and in so many ways, subtle and not so subtle, that what God says does not matter. But it does.

Truth Matters.

The Bible clearly lays out for us right from wrong, moral from immoral, behavior acceptable to God and behavior that is not acceptable to God. In fact, God thought the “Law” was so important that He says in Jeremiah 31: 33, “I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts”.

But God, because He loves us, also gave us the freedom to choose.

The “world” tells us that it does not matter which God we believe in. But that is simply not true. There is only one God, He had only One Son, and there is only One Holy Spirit. All other “gods” are false, and those that follow them will not enter Heaven.

The “war for our souls” begins with trying to convince us that our faith is misplaced. That we should trust the government instead of God.

That’s a mistake with severe consequences. Perhaps permanent ones…

Trust Jesus. Choose Jesus. Follow Jesus.

For Jesus will lead us home.

Our Hope IS in God’s Great Love for us. Hold onto it 🙂

See Through The Eyes Of Faith :)

When we see through the Eyes of Faith, it fills our hearts with Hope. To see through the Eyes of Faith, all we have to do is look at the beauty of the world that God created-for us.

The Rainbow, the sunlight touching the trees. The mountains. The sunlight shining on the water. A stream in the forest. A waterfall. The sunrise and the sunset 🙂

The list is endless…

Even in Times of Judgement, Jesus will leave us Hope.

Look. See. And remember that God created it all just for us, because He loves us. The world may have changed, but God’s Great Love for us has not 🙂

See With The Eyes Of Faith

As we look around our troubled world, it’s hard not to be concerned. Even worried. But as Ben Cerulla said in his article on inspiration.org, “When you see through the eyes of faith, God is always bigger than your problems.”

And maybe even more important, God’s solutions last forever. There is a song, Hope has a Name, His Name is Jesus.

That’s our Hope now, it always will be.

It doesn’t matter what governments or the world does. We are Free in Jesus Christ. We always will be.

And nothing and no one can change that!

“Jesus Draw Me Closer To Your Heart”

Perhaps that should be our prayer this year. “Jesus draw me closer to your Heart”. This year will be a difficult year, but faith will still be the answer. And it will be the ONLY answer.

“I need Your love like I need water” is a line from Closer by Lifepoint Worship. And perhaps that should also be our prayer-to need Jesus like we need water. A worthy prayer we can say for ourselves and for others. For our friends, and our enemies. For those who believe and those who do not.

The closer we are to Jesus, the less our enemy can frighten us. No matter what occurs this year, we are going to Heaven forever! And no matter what occurs this year, God will hear our prayers and Jesus still loves us.

It matters not what man can do to us, for it is but temporary. But God’s Goodness is forever, Do Not Fear!

Happy New Year :)

As we enter the New Year, we do so with some concern. About the election, about covid, about the economy… The list is probably endless.

But then I look at the picture of this child and I remember-Trust God as a child trusts.

And that trust is what will get us through 2021.

God loves us. He said in Isaiah 55:8-9, “My plans aren’t your plans, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my plans than your plans.

Whatever comes this year, God already knows. He has it in His Hands. He has planned for our well-being and our future because He loves us.

So do not fear, God loves us and He’s got this. Happy New Year 🙂

God Is Always Faithful!

Doubt Creeps In, Where Only Faith Belongs.

I wish I could say that I have never had any doubts, but that would not be true.  And that’s okay.  Remember Thomas?  Jesus understands ?

Do we doubt that Jesus is real, no.  For even Satan knows Jesus is real.  I think when doubt creeps in, it is more subtle than that and has more to do with our own insecurities.  We do not really doubt God’s Goodness, but our own.

But God is Faithful, even when we are not.  He loves us, even when we feel unlovable.  He loves us every second of every minute of every day.  We just need to remember that ?

And Thank Him 🙂

Because Faith is not about how we feel on any given day, but rather who we choose to follow every single day ?

Follow Jesus 🙂
