Take A Stand For Christ!

“The scribes and pharisies were watching Him closely to see if He would heal on the Sabbath, so that they could find a charge against Him”-Luke 6:7

“When the man with the shriveled hand stood before Him on the Sabbath, Jesus knew the pharisees and teachers of the law were looking to accuse Him. But He did not allow Himself to be controlled by potential accusations”-Jesus Day by Day

How many times do we refrain from sharing our faith in Jesus because we are afraid of what others will say? Or we refrain from giving Jesus credit for our Blessings, because we are afraid of someone’s reaction?

Courage is not the abscense of fear; it’s the facing of fear. We can’t let the reaction of others control us. It’s normal to be afraid, but we need to speak anyway.

The “world” may seek to keep us silent; but we have more faith than that and we need to share it. And if we need courage, all we have to do is ask God for it. He will give it to us 🙂

Be The Light 🙂

Have You Been Misled?

“23 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord.”Jeremiah 23:1

“2 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord.”Jeremiah 23:2

How many times have we seen or heard Pastors teach their congregations lessons that are not in agreement with the Bible? The “Gospel of Accomedation” is alive and well, misleading many sincere souls.

God reserves a special punishment to those who “destroy and scatter the sheep”. (We are the sheep :). Have you ever heard the saying, “To whom much has been given, much is expected”?. Such is true for Pastors as well. They have been given the special Blessing of becoming a Pastor, and so they also have a very special responsibility-telling the truth about God’s Word.

But we also have a responsibility: To read God’s Word for ourselves and Interpret it for ourselves. Our future in Heaven is forever, and it is too imporant to leave entirely in someone else’s hands. Pastors can be a really great resource and encourageent, but we need to take responsibility for our future ourselves. And so, we each, need to read and understand the Bible ourselves!

While reading the Bible is easy, understanding it is not. But fortunately for us, God gave us a “Helper”. The Holy Spirit. And if we ask the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ Name to help us understand what we are reading-He will.

Read the Bible. Your future matters!

The Blessing

In case anyone is wondering why so many videos of The Blessing have been posted…

The Holy Spirit is indeed working in our world. That so many people, from so many different countries have sung this song to encourage each other and to pray for God’s help is proof of that!

So if you ever wonder if God is here, if He understands our suffering and if He will Save us-let these songs serve as your “proof” 🙂

For God loves us all, each and every one!

Before we speak. Is it True? Is it Good? Is it Wise?

A friend sent me this story,  it was so good, I couldn’t resist sharing 🙂

Once upon a time, in a remote village, there was reputed to be a person whom held knowledge in high esteem. All the townspeople, even some strangers that traveled from far away, came to consult with this person regarding personal questions or perhaps philosophy shared. One day an acquaintance met with them and said, “Do you know what I just heard about your friend?” “Hold on a minute,” the wise person said. “Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you’re going to say. That’s why I call it the “Triple Filter Test”. The first filter IS Truth. Have you made absolutely sure what you are about to tell me IS True?” “Well, no,” the other person said, “actually I just heard about it and…” “All right,” said the wise person. “So you don’t really know if it’s true or not. Now, let’s try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?” “Umm, no, on the contrary…” “So,” the wise man continued, “you want to tell me something bad about my friend, but you’re not certain it’s true. You may still pass the test though, because there’s one filter left – the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?” “No, not really.” “Well,” concluded the wise man, “if what you want to tell me IS neither true, nor good, nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?”
God’s Word shares with you that… the tongue IS a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is SO set among the members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature. That no man can tame the tongue. It IS an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it you bless your Heavenly Father, and with it curse others, who have been made in the likeness of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. That these things ought not be so. No spring yields both salt water and fresh…. God’s Word also shares…For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness IS sown in peace by those who make peace.
