Welcome To Heaven

It occurred to me that many don’t know what Heaven is really like.  And yet, part of why we choose to Accept and Follow Jesus is to go to Heaven.  But we don’t really talk about what Heaven is like in church too much.

First of all, Heaven is not some misty place.  And it is not far away!

It’s the Garden of Eden.  We will come full circle, back to the very beginning :).  We are citizens of Heaven first and foremost.  And we will finally get to go Home.

Our Home will have trees and gardens that are so fragrant and so beautiful; they will take our breath away.  There are far more colors in Heaven than there are here on earth.  

And we will see all of them.

We will see the light shining on the river and waterfalls everywhere. And God’s “warm golden glow” will be like a beautiful sunrise. And rainbows will dance before our eyes with more colors than we have ever seen!

There will be no more fear of illness, germs or pain.  Not physical or emotional.

We will stand in the water filled with joy and peace.  The light will dance on the water and our eyes will simply adjust so we can truly see the stunning beauty of it all.  And it will be so clean, we can drink right from the river.  Can you imagine?

Jesus said in God’s House “there are many rooms”.  Some people write there will be houses.  But either way, there will be a cozy place for us 🙂

We will eat in Heaven.  We will not only go to the “banquet”.  We will go on picnics.  We will pick all kinds of fruit straight from the trees or bushes.  And it will taste stunningly exquisite.  And there will always be enough.  Can you imagine, no more homelessness or hunger, finally.  There will always be enough for everyone.  Strawberries, blueberries, mangos, banannas, grapes…And tons of vegetables, carrots, lettuce, peppers, broccoli, corn…We will never be hungry 🙂

There will be acres of beautiful green grass with God’s Light lighting them and we will be able to enjoy rolling down hills of grass and laying on the grass warmed by God’s Light.  The smell of the grass will fill us and there will be no bugs or allergies.  Just happiness.

There will be plenty of hills and mountains to explore and hike.  We will never be tired or unable to keep going.  The green of the trees and the views will take our breath away.

There will be all kinds of animals.  Dogs!  Cats! Monkeys and lions and bears and horses and elephants, birds chirping and frogs croaking…We will be able to pet and ride them because all of them will be our friends :).  And we won’t have to guess what they want or think anymore because they will be able to communicate with us.

There are no old people in Heaven.  We will either be a child, or a young man or young woman, whatever makes us the happiest.  We will see and recognize those we love.  Married couples may not be married since there is no marriage in Heaven, but they will be best friends!  Families are important in Heaven.  God loves us and He will never forget how much we love one another.

There will be no sickness in Heaven. Not physical, mental, emotional or Spiritual. There will be no more pain. We will breathe deeply and fully. There will be no nausea. And there will be no more chemo for those who have struggled with cancer. We will be completely healed in all ways, physically and mentally.

And we will walk with God without fear or guilt.  There will only be joy, peace, and love…

This is just a very small part of Heaven.  There is so much more.  Every morning, for all eternity, we will wake up, ready and happy to explore. Because there will always be something amazing and new to find.  Because God loves us and wants us to truly enjoy Heaven.
