God IS Always Just!

And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” -Luke18:7-8

God is always Just! And God is always Fair πŸ™‚ It is part of who He is!

It can be hard to watch all the evil that goes on in our world. Seemingly without consequence. But consequences will come.

The first step towards God’s Justice is Prayer. Ask God for it!

Stay On The Narrow Path

β€œEnter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”- Matthew 7:13-14

There is so much temptation in our world today. There is also the temptation to “look at the other guy” and feel pretty good about where we are at. Or on the other hand, feel pretty bad about where we are at.

But God looks at where we are and where we could be. We are not to compare ourselves to others, only give the best that we have to offer to our Lord πŸ™‚

“God gave us His Strength to follow His Will and Purpose and stay on the narrow path He set before us. Through our faith and trust in our Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we are equipped with the tools we need to fight both our everyday challenges and those once-in-our-lifetime battles we encounter. Now IS the time for us to use those tools and share the Message of Christ with others, so that they too may experience the Power and Love of our Lord. Amen” – A Friend

God’s Light

The sun shall no more be your light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light to you: but the Lord shall be your everlasting light, and your God your glory.” – Isaiah 60:19

It’s hard to imagine a day when we will not have to worry if it will be “light” enough. In America, we turn on the lights when it gets dark, but we have to pay an electric bill for that! In a number of countries, they do not have electric like we do, and when night comes all they can do is build a fire!

But there will come a day when God will provide all of the light that we need πŸ™‚ And there will be no “bill” for it! There will be no power outages and no need for fires or lamps. For God will provide the Light Himself πŸ™‚

It Won’t Always Be This Way…

Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.”-Isaiah 60:18

Peace definitely does not sound like America these days! In fact, it doesn’t really sound like earth these days! Wars and rumors of wars…violence in the city streets, division among the people…That is the world of today on earth!

But it won’t always be this way. One day, we will go to Heaven and violence will be no more πŸ™‚

Dealing With Grief

A great friend of mine wrote this; I just had to share πŸ™‚

“Once upon a time, a son visited his parents who still lived on the farm, which they had for many years. They talked with him how they had survived so far and a lot of people they had known and loved did not. They had lost friends, best friends, acquaintances, other farmer neighbors around them, grandparents, mother, father, relatives, teachers, mentors, and a host of other folks. They had even lost a child, the son’s older sister when she was very young, before the son was born. The son’s father had also lost a sister when she was very young. The son couldn’t imagine the pain it must be to lose a child.

The truth is one does not ever get used to people dying and shouldn’t. It tears a hole through you whenever somebody you love dies, no matter the circumstances. One should not ever say that it does “not matter” and be something that just passes. Scars are a testament to the love and the relationship that you have for and with that person. And if the scar is deep, so was the love. So be it. Scars are a testament to life on earth. Scars are proof that one can love deeply and live deeply and be cut, or even gouged, and are able to heal and continue to live and continue to love. The scar tissue is stronger than the original flesh ever was! Scars are only ugly to people who can not see.

As for grief, you’ll find it comes in waves. When the ship is first wrecked, you’re drowning, with wreckage all around you. Everything floating around you reminds you of the beauty and magnificence of the ship that was, and is no more. All you can do is float. You find some piece of the wreckage and you hang on for a while. Maybe it’s some physical thing. Maybe it’s a happy memory or a photograph. Maybe it’s a person who is also floating.

For a while, all you can do is float and stay alive. In the beginning, the waves are 100 feet tall and crash over you without mercy. They come 10 seconds apart and don’t even give you time to catch your breath. All you can do is hang on and float.

After awhile, maybe weeks, maybe months, you’ll find the waves are still 100 feet tall, but they come further apart. When they come, they still crash all over you and wipe you out. But in between, you can breathe, you can function. You never know what’s going to trigger the grief. It might be a song, a picture, an intersection of paths crossed, or even a smell. It can be just about anything…and the wave comes crashing. But in between waves, there IS life. Somewhere down the line, and it’s different for everybody, one finds that the waves are only 80 feet tall, or 50 feet tall. While they still come, they come further apart and you can see them coming. Could be an anniversary, a birthday, or Christmas, or a milestone. You see them coming, for the most part, and prepare yourself. When it washes over you, you know that somehow you will, again, come out the other side. Soaking wet, sputtering, still hanging on to some tiny piece of the wreckage, but you’ll come out.Β

My thoughts and prayers are that you know that the waves never stop coming, and some how you don’t really want them to. That you learn that you’ll survive them, just as your Heavenly Father survived the suffering, death and Resurrection of His Only Son, Jesus Christ, and the death of His Children, who are Home with Him now. If you are blessed, you’ll have lots of scars from lots of loves….and lots of shipwrecks. That you trust in our Lord that He will NEVER leave you or forsake in times of grief or any other times. That you know His Joy and Peace, that only He can give, now and forever. In Jesus’ Name. Thy Will be done. Amen. Peace.”

What Hope Looks Like :)

“Arise,Β shine; For your light has come!
AndΒ the glory of theΒ LordΒ is risen upon you.
Β For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people; But theΒ LordΒ will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you. Arise,Β shine;
For your light has come!
Anthe glory of theΒ LordΒ is risen upon you.

Is Isaiah 59, we see that the people recognize their sin. And they recognize that their sin has separated from God and are devastated by that separation. But yet, they can not seem to return fully to God and so they are greatly saddened.

But in Isaiah 60, we see that God calls upon His Church to “Arise”. It is His Church that will shine in the darkness when it arrives and His light will shine upon them.

With God, there is always Hope πŸ™‚

The Bible & Praying

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” – Isaiah 60:1

There is no doubt that darker times are ahead. And the world will desperately need the light of Christ shining through us to lead the way home. But in order to “shine” for Jesus, we will need God’s Help and so we will need to pray and ask Him for it!

The Holy Spirit is in us! We need to call upon the Holy Spirit and ask Him to pour out His Spirit as never before.

We need to pray for another Great Awakening!
